Best of 2024 & my first calendar

2024 marked the first full year where I devoted significant year-long energy to landscape photography. It took a good few years post-wedding career before I found picking up a camera for a personal project exciting once more, and this year I challenged myself to create at least one image that I was proud of each month, and to collect those into a calendar.

The format of the calendar was a bit limiting in terms of what images physically would fit, so I though it would be a good exercise to collect my favourite 15 images from the year, some of which made the calendar, and some of which would not fit.

Here’s a look at the calendar process. The challenge I gave to myself was to capture one good image in each month, so that the calendar months all feature an image captured in that month. As you can imagine, summer and peak winter are much easier than say April or November, but in the end I managed to create something that I was pretty happy with!
